sambar (commonly used in south indian marriages)


ingrediants
toor dhal---11/2cup
garlic--3pods
turmericpowder--1/2tp
onion--10shallo(ts)
tomato--2 small
curry leaves
drumstick--1
brinjal--2
tamarind--3 tsp (pulp)

sambar powder:
channa dhal--1tsp
redchilli--5
coriender seeds--2tsp
feenugreek seeds--1 /2tsp
hing--1/2 tsp
cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
 fry all those withpout oil and make it as powder


Method
pressure cook toordhal,with garlic turmeric powder,hing.
 oil+mustartd seed+urad dhal+onion/fry it.then +tomato fry it until it get smashed.now + vegtableswhen vegetables are half cooked+sambar powder(2tsp).Add 3 cup water.Abvoe water add 1tso sambar powder,dont stir.it will get mixed by itself,.make it to boil until vegetables are cooked 3/4.
Add boiled dhal+tamarind pulp to above mixture.
Just spread 1/2 tsp sambar powder .make it to boil for 5mts.granish with corienderleaves.
smells good if v add sambar powder at last too.

its gud for rice.even for idily r dosa we can take.as i made that sambar powder fresh it will go gud with rice.prefect name is kalyana sambar.soon i will post the recipe for sambar podi....
